A new group of facilitators for the National Capital Region

Eighteen participants took part in a week-long orientation session in Ottawa, from November 25 to 29, 2019. It was a week rich in learning and emotion. JLP program officers Rachel Besharah and Nathalie Duquette facilitated the session.

Throughout the week, participants explored co-facilitation skills, group dynamics, peer feedback and workshop preparation through a range of learning methods and facilitation techniques.

The proposed learning activities for future facilitators were based on the JLP’s experiential approach. These activities also improved the participants’ facilitation and communication skills using the material from three JLP workshops, namely Understanding the Collective Agreement, Duty to Accommodate, and Preventing Harassment and Violence in the Workplace.

The regional coordinators, Annik Campagna and Patrick Rosemond, and all the JLP staff would like to welcome the new members of the facilitators’ team!
