The JLP at APEX in Ottawa

The Leadership Summit of the Professional Executives of the Public Service of Canada (APEX) took place June 2 and 3 at the Rogers Centre in Ottawa. This annual conference hosts over 1,000 executives from across Canada for professional growth, networking and inspiration.

Catherine and Roxanne smile in front of the JLP kioskCo-Directors Catherine Gilbert (union) and Roxanne Lépine (employer), and JLP Communication, Outreach and Promotion Officer Deirdre Brown welcomed dozens of conference attendees to the JLP kiosk. Improving workplace relations were a priority for many executives in attendance. They were keen to discuss JLP learning activities, particularly Duty to Accommodate and Respecting Differences/Anti-discrimination.

Several also expressed interest in becoming a facilitator, whether for themselves or for employees with a keen interest in building a better workplace across the public service.

The Leadership Summit was a great way to connect with so many public-service executives invested in exploring options for creating safety, conversations, and opportunities for learning in their workplace.
