Learning, connection and friendship in the Prairies-Northwest Territories region

Regional Field Coordinators Karen Sokol (Employer) and Mindy Mackie (Union) welcomed a new cohort of future facilitators to the Prairies-Northwest Territories region Orientation Session from September 8th to 11th, 2025 in Regina, Saskatchewan.

Great training, dynamic and engaging.

Melanie Williams, CSC, Union

The Prairies-NWT 2025 participants built meaningful connections and developed friendships throughout the week that we hope will only get stronger with time. Their openness and enthusiasm, combined with their already strong skill sets, created a dynamic learning environment and contributed to the success of the session. JLP Program Officers Suze McFarlane and Catherine Lapierre-Ouellet guided the new facilitators in their exploration of three JLP workshops, namely Preventing Harassment and Violence in the Workplace, Understanding the Collective Agreement, and Duty to Accommodate. The JLP’s newest Program Officer, Christine Vallières, also got to experience this week both as a participant and facilitator.

An excellent opportunity to meet and network with folks across the region. An excellent meaningful learning experience.
