The National Capital Region hosts an Orientation Session
The Regional Field Coordinators (RFC) in the National Capital Region hosted their first in-person orientation session since 2019 at the end of October of this year. Ronald Thériault (employer) and Michèle Parent (union) welcomed participants from four different regions. This newest cohort spent a week together, immersed in the experiential learning method and getting to know each other and the role of a JLP facilitator.
The training was above and beyond what I had expected. The facilitators were outstanding. Leaving very motivated 😊

Participants worked with three different JLP in-person workshop learning kits over the week, getting a taste of Prevention Violence and Harassment in the Workplace, Understanding the Collective Agreement and Respecting Differences/Anti-Discrimination.
In the words of Michèle Parent, RFC (union) for the region, “There was genuine support for one another, and it gave me a sense that these folks would be connected well past the end of this orientation session. It was a pleasure to be a part of this strong dynamic!”

Participants also got to meet a couple of seasoned facilitators, Véronique Langlois (employer) and Zarina Khan (union) over lunch on Thursday to talk about the experience of facilitating for the JLP.
