A busy end of summer for the Ontario-Nunavut region

The Ontario-Nunavut region held kiosks at two busy union events in August and September as in-person events ramped up across the country.

There were quite a few young workers that were interested in becoming facilitators and they may reach out to fellow RFCs in their respective provinces.

On September 15, Anu Datta (employer) and Ryan Winger (union), the Regional Field Coordinators (RFC) for the Ontario-Nunavut region, tabled at the PSAC Young Workers’ Conference in Toronto. They met young public servants from across the country, including the Northwest Territories, Newfoundland, Quebec, Manitoba and British Columbia.Anu and Ryan sit behind a table covered in JLP merchandise and in front of the JLP kiosk backdrop.

It was wonderful to share with union members about what the JLP can offer them in terms of in-person workshops and virtual discussion sessions which is available to them at no cost.

- Ryan Winger, RFC (Union)

The Union of National Employees (UNE) held its triennial convention in Toronto at the end of August, and the Ontario-Nunavut region was there. Ryan Winger hosted a kiosk for the JLP August 21 and 22.

Whether they were hearing about the JLP for the very first time, dozens of participants chatted with our RFCs about the Program at both these events.
