Mental Health in the Workplace Clinic

From March 29 to 31, 2016, the Quebec region’s Regional Field Coordinators, Manon Bouchard and Vicky Champagne, organized a Mental Health in the Workplace Clinic (MHW). This learning event was divided in two segments.

The first segment of the Clinic was for the facilitators’ certification in Mental Health First Aid (MHFA). The two-day training, offered by the Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC) and provided by Ms. Rima Jabbour, is one of the prerequisites for anyone wishing to facilitate the MHW workshop.

The MHCC training was followed by a Clinic to increase facilitators’ awareness and comfort when dealing with the content and methodology of the MHW kit. This one-day Clinic was facilitated by Mrs. Isabelle Bégin and Marie-Hélène Brosseau, two experienced JLP facilitators.

A group of 16 facilitators participated in the Clinic: Véronique Bédard, Anny Blondeau, Stéphanie Brideau, François Faucher, Farrah Fleurimond, Dennis Flynn, Emilia Garnier, René Huacuja, Julie Mercier, Cathy Morneau, Joshua Mutanda-Mulowayi, Michèle Parent, Adam Poch, Sonya Simard Julien Souque and Patrick Tanguay. It should be noted that Ms. France Brière, Senior Advisor and Coordinator of JLP activities for Service Canada, also joined the group.
